I’ve lived at the Vela for almost 3 years now and have really had the best experience; would definitely recommend to anyone needing a safe and quiet living environment. The staff is very professional and super friendly and is always up for a conversation (Michael and Isaac are great dudes). In terms of safety, there is a CCTV that covers most of the property …. (Footage is recorded and are not dummy cameras), the property is fenced and common areas are only accessible with an issued FOB key when you rent an apt. I have a daughter that lives with and I have always felt super safe…… the property is very quiet, there are no outrageous parties, fights, and the tenants are friendly and respect each others boundaries; a super plus about living here. The property has an upper class feel, the grounds are always clean and the interior of the apartments look great….. and they have updated fixtures, appliances and great floors. So great culture, clean environment, management that cares, super safe and quiet…. I really don’t think I could find a better place!!!

Vela has been great! Overall a pretty quiet community for being right off a main road. Super dog friendly which is such a relief because most complexes are very specific with their pet rules. Management has been great and responsive to our questions and needs thus far. We are very happy here!!

I couldn’t be happier with my decision to live at Vela Apartments. From the moment I moved in, I’ve felt right at home. The property is beautifully maintained, and every detail—from the landscaping to the cleanliness of common areas—shows how much care is put into making this a wonderful place to live. The management team is fantastic—always friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of residents. The amenities are top-notch, and I love having access to my private garage, an awesome gym, nice fireplace/free coffee every morning, and a pool which I mainly use in the spring/summer. I've lived in a lot of apartments all over San Diego and Vela is the best by far. Moving here was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

My husband and I lived in the Vela apartments for two years before moving to another state, and it was the best experience we ever had! The apartment layout was comfortable, with a beautiful view from the window. Gardeners maintained the area around the complex. We have two dogs, and there was a spacious, enclosed area designated for pets. The property was secure, with no strangers on the grounds. We want to say a big thank you to Chantal, the Vela manager, who was always kind, friendly and welcoming. She helped us with any questions, and we could always rely on her. Vela has been the BEST apartments I have lived in. Not just the most cleanest, but the most down to earth and friendliest. Chantal tries her best to find community opportunities to involve the tenants in some form of social opportunities. We have food trucks (that suit the working people's schedules and very friendly people), art activities in the main office, and a calendar that even my smart mouth attitude pays attention too 😆 🤣. I enjoy looking at the weekly announcements that Chantal puts out and try to include myself in the monthly drawings with my pet for Awesome gifts that Chantal puts out for our little community. Chantal does do a lot to make Vela on "mission Gorge Road" to make it a special community of our own. 😃 Thank you Chanal for doing what you do! Terri

It has been a pleasure living here, I would highly recommend. It is a very pet friendly atmosphere, lots of gorgeous plants, maintenance is very responsive, the apartments are beautiful, and Chantal in the office is very helpful. I have lived here for over a year and have zero complaints.

Vela was a wonderful experience for our little family. We loved our apartment and spent the entire summer on the patio enjoying the sun. We would recommend this property to anyone. Our little Frenchie was OBSESSED with the dog park. Though the best part about living at Vela was our office staff. Chantal is the most incredible property manager we have ever had the pleasure of working with, she is so responsive, engaged and professional. We never had to inquiry about anything twice, she handles everything smoothly and promptly. And the entire maintenance staff kept the grounds running smoothly! We see how hard you all work. Thank you for everything you did for us in our time there.

Very nice new property, beautiful pool and bbq area. The property manager Chantal was super nice and accommodating.
